Elves. The mere word invokes many things in the different races. But to the Elves themselves, it speaks of a noble lineage that extends back to near enough the creation of the world itself. They have witnessed the passing of many generations in their immortal lives. But now their very way of life is threatened by an evil as ancient as creation itself. The three types of Elves have long since splintered, and live their own ways of life. But when all is threatened, will they cast aside their differences, or will their arguments doom the world?
From their forest homes in Malornia, the Elves have long since divided themselves.
'Common' Elves - The Standard Elves, also known as the Highborn Elves. They are the original Elves that were present at the beginning of the race's life. They are versed in the arts of swordplay, archery and magic, specializing in archery and hunting. They have pale blue/green skin and their hair is usually shades of green, blue and purple, but some are known to dye it another colour.
'Blood' Elves - Elves who seperated from their siblings to focus on the arts of magic, and in the process developed an obsession with it. This led to a painful addiction to the arcane arts. They can survive without feeding their addiction, but they are much stronger if they do. They feed it by absorbing the magical energy of other living creatures, but they cannot kill someone with this ability. They almost solely focus on Magic. Their skin is usually pale, and their hair tends to be anything from blonde, reds and browns.
'Dark' Elves - So called because of their dark nature, these Elves pride themselves on being superior to others. Their arrogance is second only to their abilities with weapons, especially rapiers and short swords. They detest the 'Highborn' Elves and will go out of their way to cause trouble for them. They are usually indifferent to the Blood Elves, but will attack them if they get in their way. They have some knowledge of magic, but not as much as the Common Elves do. Their skin is always a mid to dark shade of blue or green, and their hair is black, without exception.
The World Tree of Malornia
Malornia Forest is divided up into three subsections, each set of Elves make their home around one of three great trees, the presence and power of which grant them the power to live forever.
Common elves live in the North of Malornia, under the shade of Ygdrassil
Blood Elves live in the West of Malornia, under the shade of Teldrassil
Dark Elves live in the East of Malornia, under the shade of Nordrassil
